What is the PCC?
A Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the governing body of a parish church.
Each PCC is a charity and PCC members are trustees of the charity (the parish church). Being a trustee entails various responsibilities under charity law.
The Parochial Church Council (PCC):
- works with the minister in promoting the whole mission of the church.
- has a duty to consult with the minister on matters of general concern and importance to the parish.
- is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the church, churchyard and moveable objects
- has overall charge of all expenditure
- are Trustees of the church.
