Easy Fundraising

St Mary’s Thakeham now have an Easyfundraising account, which means that once you have registered by clicking on the link below, when you shop online, many shops/companies will donate a percentage of what you spend, to St Mary’s Thakeham. How good is that!!

It costs you nothing and Easyfundraising take none of the money!

So register BY CLICKING THIS LINK, set a reminder (I find this really useful as unless you go through your Easyfundraising account to choose a retailer who donates, it won’t automatically donate) and this reminder will pop up when you are shopping online with a company who donates. All you need to do is click on the reminder when it pops up and once you have made your purchase, that company will donate.

You can also download the App to your phone.

Sign up quickly (before 24th February to take advantage of earning St Mary’s Thakeham an extra £5 or £500!).  You must sign up by clicking on the link though.

Winter Fuel Campaign

Almost 50,000 households across Sussex live in fuel poverty; not having enough money to pay for heating their homes as well as other essentials such as food and rent.

The impact on families’ health and wellbeing is huge, but no more so than during the cold winter months when costs rise.

Family Support Work helps hundreds of families in need throughout Sussex, many of whom cannot afford to keep warm throughout winter. The choice of “heating or eating” is real and one that we believe no family should have to make.

If you will be receiving a Winter Fuel payment from the Government this year, please consider donating it to us so that we can pass it on to families in need but who aren’t eligible for this payment. A donation of £200 could make an enormous difference to a local family dreading the approach of the cold weather and the added pressures this will bring. With your help, we can reach hundreds of families this winter and do our best to spread the warmth amongst the communities who need it the most.

Thank you.

Warminghurst Parish Church

The Holy Sepulchre,  Warminghurst, is maintained by the charity, The Churches Conservation Trust

‘A country gem from a gentler era’

The setting of this 13th Century church – overlooked by Chanctonbury Ring, an Iron Age hill fort on the South Downs – is lovely enough to warrant a day out, but the building itself surpasses all expectations. The unspoilt 18th-century interior includes silvery oak pews, an uneven flagstone floor, and a curved brace roof. There are lovely local memorials and a sweetly arched wooden screen. Look for the clerk’s chair – it suggests that one of the old parish of officials was very well fed.

Church Park Lane, Warminghurst, Ashington RH20 3AW Northern end of main street in Ashington village off A24 Nearest railway station: Pulborough (5 miles)
